Cinematic music
To best characterise the vision, we could say that it must be rich, intense and bright, and in some way in opposition to the more dark universe you often find in music today. One reaction I am happy to have recieved is: Your music just gave me such a happy kick! (thank you Goodbye Kitty); this is an intention I persue, however with some detours to explosive heavy and jazz inspirations. The vision as a whole is to create an energetic rich and fertile music, which comes from the heart, and use elements from many different music styles, or to be more specific: a music which in fact do not accept the concept "style" or "genre" at all, that is, regarding it all as just simply: music as we choose to make it. I have two live line-ups in mind: Mick Nye Dance lab This is a solo act on keyboard, sax, megaphone and computer(s), with invited soloists and or visual artists. Mick Nye live A six musician lineup, where the biggest difference from a more traditional rock/jazz band is that the drummer is replaced by a "sound kitchen" consisting of a classical trained percussion player and a computer/keyboard player. Add to this guitar, bass, saxophone and voices, plus visuals. Booking inquiries: booking@micknye.com Video: Charlotte Guibé; Voices: Emma Morin; Composition, computer, mix, keyboard, and just about everything else: Michael Nyvang (alias Mick Nye); Musicians being invited for future projects include: Saxophone (live projects): Benjamin Koppel and others; Lyrics: Michael Nyvang, Nicolas Mir; Graphic design for coverart and the frontpage here (not the subpages): Marc Kandalaft; Collaborations with: Celeste / Julie Genelin, Nicolas Dusollier, Les hommes penchés and others.
